Review : Had to get a new serial number but it works now!
Like others posting here, the serial number that shipped with my education version did not work. I contacted Corel and they emailed me a new serial number. After I received that the installation went smoothly and Painter 12 works on my Windows 7 64-bit machine. It hasn't crashed, yet but it does take longer to load than Painter 11.
They have changed several things in Painter 12 so it will take a while to get used to the new interface. I've had to run several searches to find out simple thing like:
1. How to add a brush to a custom palette? In Painter 11, you clicked and dragged. In Painter 12, you have to hold down the shift key while you click and drag! You won't believe how long it took me to find that out!
2. How to turn the tracing paper off and on? In Painter 11 there was a button near the upper right corner of the image. Now the toggle is on the new navigation menu but you have to first click on the settings button located near the bottom...
